Alex Goes To Lake Alpine I

Song:  All Blues

Artist (Flute):  Dave Hinz

I will divide this trip into two articles...
the first, from home to, and including, Lake Alpine...
the second, from Lake Alpine to home.

Since we have been going to a lot of places recently...
my mother elected to skip this trip in favor of getting extra rest at home.

So...
it was just Alex and I taking this 2.5 hour trip to Lake Alpine.

Almost the whole of this route is scenic.

The early part of the journey is filled with open countryside...
and the rest is filled with mountain views and numerous alpine lakes.

For almost the whole of the trip to the lake...
Alex and I discussed the nature of true fairness and freedom as applied to civilizations...
the role of economics in a nation...
concepts of a meritocratic vs. an egalitarian society...
our national political structure and possible changes to it
to ensure a secure and prosperous future.

I enjoy talking with Alex on various subjects.

My goal is to open up his mind for him to see the direct relationship
of micro and macro systems and how they apply to everything in life
(I will go into this concept at a later time).

Once again...
many of these photos were taken through the windshield of our car...
and so, some are somewhat washed out by the sun.

We are going up Ebbot's Pass here (HWY 4).
It is the back route to Lake Alpine.

Alex throwing a rock into one of the small lakes on our way to Lake Alpine.

Another small alpine lake on the way to our destination.

We had seen many fishermen and hunters along this route.

Lake Alpine.

The water level is very low at this time of year...
however, there was a catamaran sailboat on the lake.

There was this couple who were just relaxing at the lake's edge
after having kayaked on the lake.

After we had seen the lake...
and had rested for a while...
we then departed for our drive back home.

This trip was just a way for Alex to relax...
and for us to talk and enjoy the day together.

The next article will cover our trip home...
and having dinner with my mother
(we had gone home to pick her up).
