Alex Watches 'Return Of The Jedi'

Return of the Jedi Soundtrack

Composer:  John Williams

Orchestra:  London Symphony Orchestra

Alex did his studies...
I took him to his math club...
he then worked out with his Sunday Weight Training
(he has reached a new high on the Deadlift - 260 lbs (118 Kilos) for 8 singles.
One of his calluses on his right hand started to bleed...
so he stopped 2 shy of the 10 normal singles.
I bought him lifting gloves for his future lifts and Farmer's Walk
to protect his hands, as he is now starting to lift some serious weight).

After we showered...
we had dinner...
and we then settled in to watch
'Return Of The Jedi'...
the last movie of the Trilogy.

We started early on this night...
and so, we finished at 10:30 PM.

Jabba The Hutt

I just couldn't help thinking that if he had not eaten so close to bedtime...
and had exercised just before bed...
he wouldn't have gotten so large  :)

On the moon of Endor

The land assault was a necessary first step to the space assault.
Han Solo and his group succeeded in destroying the Death Star Shield Generator
so Lando could lead the space assault.

Luke met Darth Vader and the Emperor head on...
in his attempt to turn his Father (Darth Vader) back to the light side of the force.

Luke in the process of being killed by the Emperor when...

his father instead...killed the Emperor in time to save his son.

When the shield generator was destroyed...
this allowed the space assault to begin.

With Death Star II being fully destroyed...

it was time to say good bye.

Alex really liked the Trilogy.

Alex especially liked how Luke had held true to his dream of being a true Jedi Knight...
instead of being seduced by the dark side.

Alex sees a direct correlation between Luke holding fast to his path in life...
of his sacred mission to achieve his dream of becoming a Jedi Knight...
and his attributes of accepting challenging training and of never giving up...
of not giving in to destructive drives...of bravely venturing forth...
of fighting for what is good and right if necessary...
and of moving steadily forward in life

(Alex sees this in himself through his drive to study daily...
and in his seeking out of academic challenges...
as he seeks to eventually become a University Professor).

Of course...
it is more than good that he thinks this way.
It was the central point of me showing Alex the Star Wars Trilogy  :)

The reinforcement of high morals...
as seen through good examples...
and further reinforced through strong emotional associations.

This isn't the power of the Force...
this is the power of strong parental guidance  :)
