Alex Learns Four Major Lessons In Life Through 'Spring Waltz'

Song:  Beautiful Secret (From 'Spring Waltz')

Alex and I just finished the Korean Drama series 'Spring Waltz'.

I take back what I had said before.
This is tied for first, along with 'Summer Scent'...
as my all time favorite Korean Drama.

We were watching two episodes a night...
but last night, we decided to go on a 5 episode watching spree
to finish off the series.

Besides having great scenery and music...
as well as a beautiful story line...
especially the ending...

the lead female actor (Han Hyo Joo)...
is the epitome of feminine beauty.

I consider her to be one of the most beautiful women on Earth.

She has feminine grace...
a beautiful laugh and smile...
and such beautifully expressive eyes and facial expressions
(which are all indicators of inner beauty).

Although I am speaking about her portrayed character...
I don't think anyone is such a good actor as to
portray such great beauty (personality) without
actually being a very beautiful person.

She has such a bubbly personality...
it is infectious.

I don't think there is a man who sees this drama who doesn't feel love for her.

Alex says he likes her character for three main reasons:

1)  She is happy in life.

2)  She has passion.

3)  She knows who she loves (the value of true love).

As you will notice...
these are all characteristics of the heart.

It doesn't matter if the woman is not considered physically beautiful
by today's shallow standards.

A woman who has a pure heart...
is always beautiful...
and she always remains so.

For her...
time diminishes nothing...
and so, her beauty is timeless.

And...
no matter the physical attributes...
an angry, evil, or manipulative woman...
is always ugly...
and she always remains so.

For this type...
time only worsens her ugliness
as she becomes more and more bitter in life
(although it is possible to change...most never do).

The classic Korean Love Dramas do such an exceptional job
making the viewer feel what the characters feel.

This is why it is such an exceptional teaching tool for children on the spectrum.

Emotions are displayed in such a powerful fashion...
and there is direct cause and effect portrayed
which leads to emotionally charged expressions and situations.

The classic Korean and Japanese Love Dramas are such great
teaching tools for children to learn many of the lessons in life...
not only so they may avoid the many pitfalls...
but to, mostly, learn of true love.

Never underestimate the power of modeling.

A demonstrated successful undertaking accompanied
by powerful visual and audible stimuli
which are tied to fundamental drives and responses...
bonds the emotions to the notion...
and so, provides motivation to achieve or do the same...
for better or for worse.

The tobacco and alcohol companies hooked generations using this tactic.

It is not the tactic which is evil...
just the way they used it.

However, when morals, principles, or other good behavioral modifiers
 are reinforced using these tactics...
the results lead to a better way of life.

With the beautiful scenery and music...
as well as the beautiful story lines and characters
of classic Korean and Japanese Love Dramas
demonstrating major lessons in life...
modeling becomes a force of good
using these same tactics.

The reason why these type of dramas are so popular around the world
is that the ones who love these dramas...
have already experienced a great love in their lives...
and so, their heart strings are plucked masterfully.

To see others experience true love
brings back those same magical feelings they had experienced in their lives...
while for others yet to experience true love...
it gives them the hope to succeed in finding it for themselves in their lives.

There are four major recurring lessons in almost all of these type of dramas:

1) The notion and demonstration of True Love:

True love is caring more about the happiness of your partner
than for your own.  It becomes your happiness to see the happiness of the other.

When both feel the same way about each other...
it becomes a giving and deeply loving relationship.

Although this is masterfully demonstrated throughout these dramas...
it often leads to confusion among the characters because so much is not expressed.

This leads to the second lesson...

2) The absolute need for Clear, Open, and Honest Communication:

I have watched many of these dramas...
and most of them numerous times.

I still get frustrated and impatient with the characters
because with just clear, open, and honest communication...
so much heartache could be avoided
(I know...there would be no drama without miscommunication  :)

However, it demonstrates how to avoid many problems in real life
by being very clear, open, and honest when talking with people.

The characters finally find happiness when they stop holding back
with their emotions and with their words of affection.

3)  The need for Forgiveness:

While anger can be channeled into determination and the resulting
drive to better yourself...it is for competition.

Love is not a competition.

Held anger towards a loved one leads to an ever increasing spiral of destruction.

Most of all...
it robs both of time which is irreplaceable...
and which is much better spent building an enduring love.

Most things are very forgivable
(especially momentary anger out of frustration...
my major fault  :)

If it is unforgivable...
end it and move on.

If it is...
do it and move forwards.

Life is too beautiful to not be truly living it.

Long held anger...
is ugly...
and it leads to a bitter outlook which destroys
the happiness of all in its path of destruction...
especially for the person who cannot forgive.

In this drama...
even the great beauty of the main female character
was destroyed (for a short while)...
because she, at first, couldn't forgive.

The change in her expressions and demeanor was spooky...
even scary  :)

4)  The true beauty of Inner Beauty:

When a woman is a loving and giving person...
she expresses her pure heart in her eyes and smile.
Her laughter becomes a siren song of irresistibility
because of its genuine and light hearted nature.

Such a woman becomes hauntingly beautiful.

When she demonstrates an open and pure heart
through her graceful and feminine motions...
her heart to heart engagement as demonstrated by her truly listening to others
and through her genuine eye contact and her careful observations
(which expresses her desire to connect with others)...
and through her respect and care for others as shown through her actions...
a man simply cannot resist being attracted to such a being.

Such traits are demonstrated in these types of dramas.

As Alex watches more of these types of dramas...
he will also notice the common thread among
pure hearted people.

He will then notice these same traits in real life...
and so, he will be able to see into the hearts of those around him.

Wisely choosing a mate
will be one of the most important decisions Alex will make in life.

By understanding these four major lessons in life...
as demonstrated time and again in these dramas...
Alex will be able to experience deep and everlasting love
while avoiding the many pitfalls of the foolish...
and so, he will be able to find a true and magical love.
