Alex's Daily Supplement Since Infanthood (Omega 3s) - Science Daily / Coromega

One of my favorite web sources for daily reading comes from:

I have been an avid reader of science...
particularly in the area of research...
as from books and publications...all my life...
and from sites such as this...
for as many years as they have been available on the internet
(Science Daily is my favorite).

Science Daily...
there is such an interesting and large volume of cutting edge
research from around the world as it publishes from
Research Centers and Professors and their teams of assistants
from the world's top Universities.

It includes a wide range of categories from various scientific disciplines
and it covers not only the meat of the research involved...
it often covers the all important methodology and the variables considered...
and all in layman terms and in a highly digestible format.

Actually...
in a short while...
I shall be picking articles from Science Daily
for Alex to read as we discuss, not only the ramifications
of such research, but their methodology and how it supports
their conclusions.

However...
there was one particular piece of research
(as well as many leading links to other areas of the importance of
a rich amount Omega 3s in the diet)...
that had caught my eye to write an article about.

We have known the great benefits of a diet rich in Omega 3s for many years...
and have been supplementing Alex's diet with them on a daily basis...
since he was an infant
(Alex also has a diet rich in Omega fatty acids by eating a lot of fish...
such as Salmon, Trout, Tuna, and Mackerel).

The particular brand we use is Coromega Omega3 with Vitamin D3
(the addition of D3 is a fairly new line but when I had seen it...
we started buying it over the line without...and we shall continue to use it).

It is available off of Amazon.

(I am not compensated in any way...
it is just a testimonial for a great product)

The contents of this particular multi squeeze pack is creamy and delicious.

Alex and I have them once daily after dinner...
and Alex and I love the taste and texture.

There are many, many reasons to have a healthful inclusion
of Omega 3s in the diet...as well as for Vitamin D3
(I urge all to do their own research on the subject).

Get the ones with the added D3s.

The typical American diet is simply deficient in the Omega 3s and in Vitamin D3.

Although children used to get plenty of sunshine by playing outdoors...
how many do so now?

Also, in colder regions...
how many get enough?

Also, the use of sunscreen while in the sun
prohibits the ultraviolet rays on the skin responsible
for the body's manufacturing of Vitamin D from effecting this process
(I am not saying to not use sunscreen...
it also prevents damage from the sun from occurring).

So...
a smart way of supplementing them is through the diet.

For all parents...
and for advanced or older children...
a way to become fascinated by science is to see the results of that process.

Science Daily is a conglomeration of research articles from
all of the major areas of the various disciplines of science.

It is from this type of reading that a child will develop
a rational and critical way of thinking...
and so...
will develop a strong base from which
the development of their common sense may be grown.

As with everything else...
you must consider the evidence as supported...
the methodology used...
and their conclusions.

Science is a process...
and so, as such...
the conclusions of which are not necessarily always true.

It shows a plausible explanation...
the strength of which is determined by the strength of the evidence...
of how it is used...
and of how the conclusion is drawn and applied.

However...
what science is...
is a way at achieving truth...
by being self correcting through the cleansing
and matching of the theory to that of empirical evidence
(it matches observed or otherwise verifiable reality).

Just remember that if a study suggests one thing...
and is later proven to be incorrect...
it is not a failure of science...
just of that particular scientist or experiment
(unless it points him to a better path).

It is through science that it is later disproven...
and a way of realigning theory with reality...
and so a new theory is discovered.

This is a validation of the scientific process.

It is in the inappropriate application of the conclusions...
and as spread by laymen in the press...
which throws so many off of science
(applied too broadly, or otherwise...incorrectly).

Science Daily...
is a great way to stimulate young readers
to learn to love science...
and a great way of seeing the world...
through the eyes of truth and wonder...
through a curious mind hungry for exploration...
an observant mind noticing patterns and details...
and a critical mind hunting for answers through
the setting up of a problem to discover cause and effect...
and so to explain events that have happened...
is happening...
and/or to predict that which will happen...
and most of all...
to find the interconnections which will lead us to new discoveries...
to those paths and destinations as of yet to be dreamed.
