Development Of Common Sense - II / The Favorite Scarlet Letter - Racism

Song:  True Strength

Artist:  John Dreamer

People who are Racist...are ignorant.

The ones who attempt to place the Scarlet Letter of Racism
on people without any supporting evidence...
on merely a correlation...
and then claiming a causal connection...
are either being willfully stupid...
or are evil.

In the minds of the manipulators in society...
it is an efficient way to rally non thinkers to their side
by putting the opposition on the defensive through a mere statement...
and having the opposition have to prove themselves innocent.

What so many people do not realize:

 Unsupported statements...
need no defense.

Were this widely understood...
rumors could not be spread so easily...
or be so damning to the innocent.

On Nov. 8, late night comedian Conan O’Brien joked about Marvel Comics’
new female Muslim superhero.
But many viewers did not find his joke tasteful.

“Marvel Comics is introducing a new Muslim female superhero,” O’Brien tweeted.
“She has so many more special powers than her husband’s other wives,” he joked.
But not all O’Brien’s 9 million followers laughed.

The comedian received a flooding of replies via Twitter,
including one which called him “******* racist scumbag.”

I got this article off of Facebook.

I couldn't stand the idiocy...
and I had to post a comment to the article
(my comment):

First of all...Muslims are NOT comprised of any specific RACE!
Another thing...just because a specific race IS mentioned...doesn't make it RACIST!
It only applies when all of that race are expressed or implied
to be inferior or superior to other races based upon their race.

Obviously, not all Muslims have multiple wives...and so, the humor.
Conan said something that was NOT expected...something which is known NOT to be true.
He threw a twist into a statement which was designed to catch the listener off guard...
and so, to tickle the listener's sense of humor.

Individuals who walk around with an emotional house of cards...
demanding that no one blow a puff of wind their way...are elitists.
They think they are special...above any harmless humor.
They demand SPECIAL respect just for being in a special group...
NOT for ANYTHING they had individually done.
They freely joke about others...but deem themselves godlike in their own eyes...
and so, demand ALL others deem them so.

 It all lies in tribalism.
These individuals seek a group to associate themselves with
in an attempt to have unearned special privileges bestowed upon them.
It is the easy way...in their minds...to elitism by mere association.
How fraudulent! How arrogant is this self puffery!

To earn your way in life, through self initiated efforts to achieve great things...
is a life long endeavor which demands deferred gratification
and efficiently applied intelligent efforts toward specific goals.
Not mere expression of a particular belief.

Why must adults be subjected to elementary school yard tactics?

How is it possible that adults are actually swayed by such
transparently juvenile tactics?

Of course...
these tactics are used in all of the isms...
however, they are most often used as an emperor card to censure opponents...
or to mark them for destruction by claiming...
Racism or Sexism.

While Racism and Sexism does exist...from ALL sides...
you rarely hear supporting evidence for the claims of those
who so easily throw out this supposed trump card.

Just through volume of delivery (intensity and quantity)...
they seem to rally the town fools in great masses...
and make them dance to their tunes...
to do their bidding mindlessly.

I often stress to my son, Alex...
that it is the message that is all important...
not the messenger.

Only in instances where the message may not be validated
should the intent of the messenger even be considered.

It is the argument...
the veracity and validity of it...
as supported in a correct premise...
in the supporting evidence and how it is logically argued...
and how the conclusion is directly derived from that logical argument...
that is all important.

An example I often use with Alex to illustrate this point:

You see a disheveled heavily drunken person lying on a park bench.
You hear him drunkenly mumble...
one plus one equals two
(in the strictly mathematical sense...it is true).

Do you dismiss his statement because he is drunken?

Or do you just judge the statement by itself?

It is the same for the Isms.

I've heard people automatically
and mindlessly spout their favorite ism against another...
and then have other mindless puppets chime in
that the person had been Racist / Sexist...etc...
when in fact...there had been no such statement expressed or implied.

It takes but one person with good ole' country common sense
to simply say:  Oh...how so?

The deer in the headlights look from the accusers is precious  :)

It is the person who makes the statement who must support it...
not for the accused to have to automatically refute it.
