Fall Colors For Alex 2013 - I

Song:  Expression

Artist:  Helen Jane Long

Our 2.5 hour route to Alpine Lake.

After Alex's studies for the day...
we stopped at an Indian restaurant for the lunch buffet...
then drove to our first stop for fall color viewing in the Sierra Nevadas.

We stopped briefly at the 3rd dot from the top...
to take some fall color photos...
(this article's photos are just at the first stop)
and then continued on up to Alpine Lake...
while stopping occasionally to take more fall color photos.

Alex, and I, had a great day of viewing the fall colors in the nearby
Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Alex loves the natural beauty of the mountains.

It was only an hour, or so, to this point.

We had seen an intersecting highway leading farther into the mountains...
and decided that it might prove to be a worth while adventure to follow it
up to Alpine lake...another 1.5 hours to just beyond the crest of the mountains.

We wished to see more fall colors along the route...
and it had proved to be a very nice drive.

Alex is always excited by a new adventure...
an unproven path...
a chance to tred unknown territory.

Alex had also experienced another first on the way back...
something he really enjoyed doing...
and something which he will continue doing in the future.

In the next article...
I will describe the significance of this seemingly unimportant development
in Alex's maturation...along with more photos of fall colors.
