Alex's Last Day In Las Vegas - Lunch...The Venetian...And Then Home.

Song:  Santa Lucia Luntana

Artist:  Luciano Pavarotti

We started the day with lunch at an off strip Dim Sum restaurant.

Everything was so good.

I was so full...
I couldn't eat anything more until midnight...
when we ate dinner in Reno.

We ate our fill...
then parked at Treasure Island...
and walked over to The Venetian for a day of
air conditioned comfort and beautiful indoor sights.

The Gondola Oarsman were professionally trained singers.

We rode in one a short while later.

This area was a recreation of St. Marco Square.

The painted dome was so realistic...
it was easy to feel as if you were outside.

We are preparing to go on a Gondola ride.

Our Gondola Oarsman sang "Santa Lucia" in true operatic fashion...
and in "Donald Duckenese" for Alex  :)

This was one of the photos taken upon our departure.

The inside tour was short...
but well worth it.

Alex had a lot of fun on the tour.

We walked back through St. Marco square on our way out.

Just one of the many beautiful ceilings throughout The Venetian.

I thought this was a very classy restaurant entrance.

It was as fragrant as it was beautiful.

Typical scenes throughout The Venetian shops area.

We were all tired from our 4 days in Las Vegas.

We walked back to our minivan...
and headed for home.

We had an almost 8 hour drive ahead of us...
but we were looking forward to going home.

The air is so much cooler...
the natural beauty surrounding Reno is ever present...
it is not crowded.

Las Vegas was fun...
but too noisy and crowded for us.

We were at about the halfway point here (Tonopah).

As it was almost midnight when we got back to Reno...
we stopped at our favorite 24/7 restaurant...
The Purple Parrot.

Alex had Grilled Salmon...
and as I was still mostly full from the Dim Sum...
I just had a Grilled Southwest Chicken Sandwich
(which was very good).

When we got home...we again...
slept in.

Upon awakening this afternoon...
I did some research into nearby bike trails.

We plan to go trail riding on our bikes tomorrow.

Alex, and I, are also going to start planning our next
camping / fishing / shooting trip...
in the next couple of days.
