Alex At The William D. May Botanical Gardens

Song:  Maestro

Artist:  Hans Zimmer

Alex with his EzyRoller at the William D. Botanical Gardens in Reno.

It is this very spacious park filled with meandering walkways...
nature trails, gardens...etc.

It is open to the public...
it is free...
it is open until 9:00 P.M...
and most of all...
it is a splendid walk into another place...
almost as if you were in a storyland.

It is but a 10 minute drive from home.

While we walked quite a ways...
there is still so much to explore and enjoy here.

I try to take Alex out to a nearby park everyday after his studies.

It is to allow him to unwind...to refresh his mind, body, and spirit.

The park was filled with these paved walkways...
which weaved through, what seemed to be...
mountain forests.

Through some of the side areas...
it seemed as if we were at a campground
(Alex remarked that it was just like camping).

There were the sights and smells of a mountain forest...
as well as the sounds of one from the many birds in the trees.

They had planted many flowers and fragrant plants along the route.

Alex just pumped away on his EzyRoller pedals as he glided his way
through the forests on a walkway straight out of a fairy tale.

One of several buildings in the park
(there is a museum, visitors center...etc)

They had many benches facing areas of beauty or interest...
covered areas, picnic tables...etc.

When Alex had posed in this victory position...
I remarked that it was like in the movie "Rocky"...
then I had realized that he has never seen it
(I know...shame on me...it is an American classic  :)
I will have to show him the movie one day soon.

Alex kicking the sand from his sandals.

Alex clowning around, saying he was one of the super heroes in one of his iPad's games.

I enjoy taking Alex to parks after his studies.

I see him really enjoying himself...
and I see how inspired he gets being in beautiful places.

Alex loves being out in the wilderness...
in the forests, the mountains, the oceanside, the desert...
he loves it all.

This park really brought out these same feelings in him.

Alex really opens up in such areas...
he feels free to talk about anything.

A daily reinforcer of beauty keeps a child's mind on his future.
It is hope for him, to one day be able to live in such beautiful surroundings.

He will have a long term goal to be able to one day retire...
to be able to buy a large plot of land in or near the wilderness...
plant all the most beautiful and fragrant plants and build any desired structures
in order to create a heaven for himself for the rest of his life...
and to be able to hand the land down to his children for their enjoyment.

It is about the freedom to live how you truly wish to live...
and to create, all around you, that which you most desire
( I am only on the first phase so far...I am retired :)

I constantly look for end results to reverse engineer back to him...
always stressing to him that it is his daily study habits that will be the key to
him finding ultimate happiness in his life...
to be able to live a life of passion...
and when he truly desires it...
to live the rest of his life in complete freedom, peace, and beauty.

  1. How nice that you have such a beautiful park so close to your house, and, as a bonus, it is free. I can see why Alex enjoys being in the wilderness... you have exposed him to many gorgeous places.

  2. Yes...there are so many places we have yet to explore. Just today (my next article) we went to some beautiful reservoirs nearby. Alex, again, had a good time in the wilderness.
