Good Times For Alex - Part 2 - Rainforest Cafe (S.F.)

Song:  Everybody's Talkin"

Artist:  Harry Nilsson

Just another song that was popular when I was Alex's age
(It was later popularized in some movies).

After Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum...
we decided to go to the excellent restaurant...
Rainforest Cafe.

This is a must visit place to shop and eat.

It is a great experience.

It is on the main drag just off of Fisherman's Wharf.

Below are pictures of our visits here with Alex over the years.

(Are they purposely aging the Gorilla?)

It is a thoroughly enjoyable place to spend a few hours eating and shopping.

The inside is nicely themed.  It is a unique dining experience as there are
many things to see and hear as you eat.

The shopping area is well laid out...
and the prices are reasonable.

We were initially told that it would be a 40 minute wait...
however, within 15 minutes I was told that our table was ready...
my lucky day.

We were looking forward to it as we had always enjoyed our
experience here.

We had just gotten to our table.
Alex and I went to the restroom to wash our hands...
we got back...
sat down...
then strobe lights started going off and
an announcement proclaimed all guests needed to evacuate
by the nearest emergency exit.

We left and had to go to a different restaurant.

It turned out to be smoke from a new dish they were making
that ended up smoking too much and
 had triggered the smoke alarms.

Although the Fire Department had cleared the event quickly...
we had already gone to a restaurant across the street.

Still...after our meal...
we went back to the Rainforest Cafe to do some shopping.

We strolled down the street to do some more shopping...
and then called it a night.

We always have a great time in San Francisco.

This will be one of the places (S.F.) that will be
forever remembered with fondness as Alex
matures.

I am sure he will derive great pleasure from
taking his children to the locations of memorable events
of his childhood.

  1. Hah, those pictures of Alex with the gorilla are great, as you can see how Alex is growing up. It is so funny to see that the gorilla is aging, too.

  2. Before I had seen the three photos in contrast to each other...I had never noticed the difference in the Gorilla. Alex is growing so much right now. I am so amazed at his rate of growth. He is going to be quite a bit larger and taller than I am within eight or so years.
